"I'm not here to Compete with anyone" - Celine Dimas

Celine Dimas

Enjoying the euphoria of the popular acceptance recorded by her female version of D’banj’s 'Oliver Twist', crossover actress, singer and model, Celine Dimas is set to hit the airwaves once again with a new single entitled 'Wonder'.

Produced by rave of the moment music producer, Flip Tyce, 'Wonder' is expected to be premiered on online music download sites in a couple of days before hitting both local and foreign radio stations.

According to Celine, who has already carved a niche for herself as an actress and model, her foray into music was not accidental. “It is simply a way of expressing the other side of the numerous talents that I have. Even though, I’m still new in the music industry, I have what it takes to succeed,” she enthused.

The Imo State born diva further stated that, “aside the fact that I’m equally a good singer, I have got stage presence, packaging and above all, working with one of the best hands in the industry.”

C
eline, who has already established herself as one of the most promising female entertainers said her mission in music is to make a statement, not compete with anybody.

“Honestly, I’m not doing music to compete with anyone, and whoever tries to compete with me is doing so at his or her own peril because I’m just doing my thing. In showbiz, originality matters a lot, I’m original and nobody can be like me, just as I cannot be like anybody.”

Celine, who is currently in the studio working on new songs, says her video will soon hit the airwaves as well. “Singing is just another part of the natural talents I have. And within a very short time, I’m optimistic that that the sky will be the starting point,” she explains.

Meanwhile, as part of her efforts to give back to the society, the less privileged in particular, Celine celebrated her birthday in the orphanage recently, and according to her, it will be an annual development.

Speaking on his experience producing Celine’s new dancehall track, Flip Tyce, who produced P Square’s Chop My Money hit which featured Akon and May D, confessed that Celine beats his imagination. “At first, I thought she was just one of those wannabe Nollywood people trying to do music, but it was when she got to the studio that I realised that she has got something unique to offer. I wasn’t expecting what I got from her,” Flip Tyce submitted.
