L.O.S
L.O.S aka Loud on Sound is a musical group best known for their single “Magic” which was a hit featuring Reggae Dancehall act, Shank. The group was formed in 2008 while in High school and comprises of Bolaji Ladipo aka Yungkillingwtf – 17, Tomi Thomas aka Tomi – 18, Olade Brisbe aka Briss – 16 and Winner Forster aka Bridge -16. The group first started with just Yung and Bridge, but after working with Tomi and Briss on a song titled “Home with Me”, a decision was taken to make L.O.S stronger by adding the both of them.

Phenomenal safely describes them, because their music years ahead of their ages. They produce some of their beats and write all their songs in minutes. They are currently working with artists and Producers such as Shank, Dotstar, Chykay, Wizkid, Davido, Chuddy K, and Samklef amongst others. They performed in the just concluded African Kings of Comedy show held in the Expo Centre at Eko Hotel & Suites, recently.

L-R: Briss, Bridge, Tomi & Yungkillingwtf
Winner Forster, born September 20, 1994 better known by his stage name Bridge, is a young, talented Nigerian rapper, singer and record producer. He was born in Lagos, at age five, he became interested in music. Under Jayen, he began rapping recreationally at age eleven while in Dansol High school; influenced by the likes of Jadakiss, Ludacris and Big L. In 2006, he performed at a freestyle battle show where he met his opponent YUNG in the final, after several rounds without a clear winner the audience voted the battle as a draw. This performance made them very popular within their friends and neighborhood as a result they started free styling and making mix tapes tracks together and this landed them a spot at JIMMY JATT JUMP OFF. “Music is my life; music is my food, my drugs.  I am ready to go the extra mile to give Nigerians good music that they really deserve”.

Bolaji Ladipo, born October 8th, 1993, better known by his stage name YUNG, is a Nigerian rapper, song writer and producer. YUNG signed with Bankhead management in 2007, and then in 2011 signed with Storm Records. He’s the youngest of five children into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ladipo. YUNG started rapping at the age of 13 when his cousin showed him the basics of rhyming and word play. Inspired mostly by rappers Method man, Lupe Fiasco and Tupac Shakur, Yung developed a love for telling stories in his lyrics. At age 15, Yung had notebooks filled with rhymes, but no beats of his own to record them with. This prompted him to learn how to make his own beats, which he combined with his song writing techniques. ”I believe me and my team’s going to quiver the industry, when you hear our sound coming through your speakers, you will have to admit that we are really Loud On Sound”.

Olade Brisbe, born July 5, 1994, better known by his stage name Briss, is of African Cuban and Ijaw descent. Briss wrote his first rap song at age nine when moving to Adeniyi Jones and joined an amateur rap group called CR with co-member Tomi Thomas and years later joined L.O.S. He attended Greensprings High School in Lagos from 1995 to 2011. He’s often referred to as a “lyrical scientist” because of his unique method of combining words. ”having lyrical content is only one step, your style has to be unique, and your audience needs to mark you different from every other rapper”. He’s influenced by Eminem, Twista and Andre 3000. He doesn’t see only music as a passion but is highly interested in fashion. “The combination of my team and I will contribute to long waited revolution in the music industry” BRISS is known to be the clown of the group and is always ready to have fun.”

Tomi Thomas, born November 9, 1992, in Lagos, attended Greensprings High school. There, he was in a group called CR before leaving with Briss to join L.O.S. Tomi has also been a very active member of his church choir for a number of years. His vocal skill has attracted a lot of positive comments from music reviewers. He is the voice behind most of the L.O.S choruses. “LOS is not like every other group or band you know, everybody on the team has a very unique quality, I’m sure when you hear our music more you will attest to that”. His musical influences are Usher, R. Kelly and Chris Brown.

The four-man group is endlessly working day and night on new tracks. Music is more than a profession to these young stars, it’s a passion. Their friendship is beyond the studio, they are like brothers and they live close to each other, they started making music not with the motive to become ‘famous’ but because it was their passion. In 2010 ‘Home with me’ was recorded and released which drastically increased their popularity and hype amongst Nigerian teenagers. They became highlighted over the Internet to lay Emphasis on twitter which is the most active social network among Nigerian teenagers after they released ‘Taking over me’ and ‘Boys are not Smiling’. Their first single ‘magic’ which featured Shank was released last year July and it got a lot of positive responses. The song received airplay from radio stations in the country and the video for the song was released September 2011. November last year they got officially signed to Storm records and ever since fans have been waiting for the release of their new music. In Mr. Obi Asika’s words, C.E.O of Storm Records, ‘L.O.S is what the industry has been waiting for a group with the right blend of lyrical content and good music” They finally released two new singles online ‘On Fire’ and ‘Bad guy P’ on the 30th of January 2012 and the songs a lot of positive reviews. Also the video for ‘On fire’ has been shot and will be released very soon. Their music cuts across all age groups; they have what the rap lovers all looking for, they also have the right dishes for the R&B lovers, and also have the right dishes for those that love techno music. The group is set to take over the industry because they have right material and they are backed by the right label. So get familiar now, because they are the next household names you will be talking about.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Is Nollywood's Highest Paid

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Is Nollywoods' Highest Paid!
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

That was the first time it began to dawn on observers that actresses who have paid their dues are actually getting paid.

As you read this Omotola’s take home fee is no longer N1.7m, the actress now collects N5m per script to be involved in any movie.

According to observers, she has even turned down scripts worth N3M and recently turned down a script worth N2.5M and Ireti Doyle got the role.

She got paid N5M for her role in movie 'AMINA' by producer Tarila Thompson whilst she go N4.5M for her role in ties that bind after a series of negotiations.

Let’s say she collects four scripts in two months, that’s a solid N20million keh! Abeg maybe I should dump writing for a waka pass role eeeeeh.

If you disagree with this amount and think someone else earns higher, please let me know.

PS: Omotola haters please take a chill pill and don’t drop any venom comments under anonymous I beg una.

K-Kay arrives with 'Sisi To Dun'

https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/?ui=2&ik=dc288707af&view=att&th=136e335c9bd423d1&attid=0.1&disp=inline&safe=1&zw&saduie=AG9B_P8MyS31swmMiHPKe7J2iIVh&sadet=1338853425076&sads=0W0X1pL3y1ZpvugtEOr-O1nFuEg
K-Kay

His real name is Okiemute Oseke but fans refer to him as K-Kay. Born in the United Kingdom, he is set to heat up the music scene in Nigeria.

His single, 'Sisi To Dun' featuring Presh P, produced by Xblaze, currently enjoys airplay in the nation’s airwaves with his other track as well, 'Awoof' where he featured fast-rising Yoruba emcee Base One, and he's also performed at the Kennis Music Easter Fiesta which held recently in Lagos during the easter festivity.

According to K-Kay, to have his childhood in Warri, Nigeria, where he also schooled, gave him the advantage of writing music. As a child, he spent a lot of time with his cousins, who had a strong interest in music.

H
e recalls: “I was intrigued by the attention they paid to music and would often sit and listen as they played songs. I also watched them rap along with music and freestyle.”

A
fter building up his confidence, his fascination with the music industry grew. He initially began writing his own music before deciding to make a partnership with close friend, Dubbz Lloyd, to form the group, The AA, and they have several successful tracks and professional videos. K-Kay fuses original hip-hop with his passion of Afro beat to create music with an individual, unique and fresh style.

By 2006, he released his first debut single, 'Rhyme Flipper', which aired on local radio stations across Manchester and in its first week of release, featured on popular television channels abroad in the UK.

He has performed at several music events across the region- solo and as a group. Surprisingly, he has been a supporting performer for T-Pain, Akon, Busta Rhymes, 2 Face amongst others and has aired by Swagga TV, at events hosted by Trevor Nelson and Steve Sutherland.

He says, “I am in Nigeria to take my music to an all-new height because conquering the home-front before the world has proved to be the hallmark of any successful star. I have set in motion the machinery to achieve this objective. A record deal is the next on the card and we are in talks with many labels that are in love with my songs.”

Currently, the artiste is working on a mix tape and also his first album, besides making time to produce for his group. You can follow him on twitter @k_kaymusic

"I'm not here to Compete with anyone" - Celine Dimas

Celine Dimas

Enjoying the euphoria of the popular acceptance recorded by her female version of D’banj’s 'Oliver Twist', crossover actress, singer and model, Celine Dimas is set to hit the airwaves once again with a new single entitled 'Wonder'.

Produced by rave of the moment music producer, Flip Tyce, 'Wonder' is expected to be premiered on online music download sites in a couple of days before hitting both local and foreign radio stations.

According to Celine, who has already carved a niche for herself as an actress and model, her foray into music was not accidental. “It is simply a way of expressing the other side of the numerous talents that I have. Even though, I’m still new in the music industry, I have what it takes to succeed,” she enthused.

Celine Dimas
The Imo State born diva further stated that, “aside the fact that I’m equally a good singer, I have got stage presence, packaging and above all, working with one of the best hands in the industry.”

C
eline, who has already established herself as one of the most promising female entertainers said her mission in music is to make a statement, not compete with anybody.

“Honestly, I’m not doing music to compete with anyone, and whoever tries to compete with me is doing so at his or her own peril because I’m just doing my thing. In showbiz, originality matters a lot, I’m original and nobody can be like me, just as I cannot be like anybody.”

Celine, who is currently in the studio working on new songs, says her video will soon hit the airwaves as well. “Singing is just another part of the natural talents I have. And within a very short time, I’m optimistic that that the sky will be the starting point,” she explains.

Meanwhile, as part of her efforts to give back to the society, the less privileged in particular, Celine celebrated her birthday in the orphanage recently, and according to her, it will be an annual development.

Speaking on his experience producing Celine’s new dancehall track, Flip Tyce, who produced P Square’s Chop My Money hit which featured Akon and May D, confessed that Celine beats his imagination. “At first, I thought she was just one of those wannabe Nollywood people trying to do music, but it was when she got to the studio that I realised that she has got something unique to offer. I wasn’t expecting what I got from her,” Flip Tyce submitted.
